Honoring Our Nation’s Service Men and Women

It’s hard to believe it, but our great nation has been in state of war for almost ten straight years. The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have raged while life on the home front has remained relatively stable. But that stability is bought and paid for by the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform.
If you know someone who is serving, or has served our country, you might consider honoring their commitment with a small token of gratitude. There are numerous shops and web sites that stock a whole host of military gifts that can be personalized with names, units and specific branches of the armed forces.
Typical Army gifts, for example, include items like American flags that come with a plaque commemorating the veteran’s service dates. This is the type of memento that quickly becomes a cherished family heirloom.
For the men and women of the U.S. Navy, their tour of duty is typically closely linked with a specific ship. Consequently, Navy gifts involve pictures of the ship, histories of specific ships, or just a hat with the ship’s name.
Our soldiers and sailors pay the price of freedom with their service. A small gift is great way of honoring our nation’s veterans.
