Printer manufacturers can be rather sneaky trying to sell their printers as cheap as possible in order to get you to buy them and then sell you replacement printer ink cartridges at twice the price of the printer. For this reason it is imperative to check the price of the replacement ink cartridges for a printer before buying it. Epson are better than most when is comes to selling printers at reasonable prices that reflect their running costs. In the case of the Epson SX218 the printer can be purchased for under £50 and a set of replacement Epson SX218 ink cartridges costs around £30 which is not too bad compared to some of it rivals. Genuine Epson ink cartridges are expensive because Epson say that they spend millions of dollars every year developing new ink technology like DURABrite Ultra which helps produced better, longer lasting print results. A good money saving alternative to the genuine cartridges are compatible Epson ink cartridges which are available from a number of online retailers and costs around £15 for a complete set. These compatible inks do not feature DURABrite Ultra Ink but still manage to produce excellent print results. The print quality is also down to the fact that the SX218 has a high resolution print head capable of producing 5760 x 1440dpi which results in excellent print results for all types of documents. Other features of the SX218 are not quite so impressive as it print quality but still perform to a high standard. The SX218 is in general a good all-round multi-functional device.
